Erptree Oracle fusion Defining and Managing Business Units in Oracle Order Orchestration and Definin

A Business unit is a unit of an enterprise solution that executes one or more business functions that can be rolled up in a management tree structure. It can process transactions on behalf of multiple legal entities. Normally, it will have a manager, a level of autonomy, strategic objectives, and responsibility for its profit or loss. Roll business units up into divisions if you design your chart of accounts with this type of hierarchy structure. In Oracle Fusion Applications, you assign your business units to the primary ledger. This assignment is important for your business units with business functions that generate financial transactions.

In Oracle Fusion Applications, we use business unit as a securing mechanism for financial transactions. To accomplish this security, set up the export business sales and domestic business sales as two separate business units. Business units process transactions using reference data sets that replicate your business rules and policies and can differ across countries. With Oracle Fusion Application functionality, you can choose to share reference data, such as transaction types and payment terms across business units, or you can choose to have each business unit, maintain its own set depending on the level at which you enforce to common policies. In these cases, define a ledger and assign legal entity and a business unit.

Business Unit Security:

Business Units are used by a number of Fusion Applications to implement the data security. You assign data roles to your end users and give them access to data in business units and permit them to do specific functions on this business data. When a business function is chosen for a business unit, the application can activate the creation of data roles for this business unit based on the business functions related to job roles. Therefore, based on the correspondence between the business function and job roles appropriate data roles are created automatically. Use Human Capital Management security profiles to administer security for employees in business units.
